The service was unacceptable (arrogant, unresponsive, one of our group did not get the right dinner until the third try, when everyone else had finished); the sommelier recommended a wine that was not particularly good or worth the money; and the food was fine, but nothing special.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8169559709224896951.post-59162582038709781912009-06-13T11:31:06.726-04:002009-06-13T11:31:06.726-04:00We went to Chutney Masala last night and had an ex...We went to Chutney Masala last night and had an excellent meal. My wife and I ate there last night for her birthday, and we thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our dining experience. She had the codfish fritter app and the pork and black been stew, I had the scallop app and the salmon. The bread, sausage, and olives were also excellent. While I didn't see the wine list, we did enjoy their house white by the glass and it was quite good. Unfortunately I can't collect that until I have $100. That said, I have no problem with anyone posting a contrary experience. In fact, I wish more people would post about their dinners. My goal is to create a community of like minded Westchester diners. I do take issue with the poster being an a-hole.

I am sorry you had a bad experience. I wonder if it was an off night or an indication of problems? I don't know. I've been too busy with my volleyball team who are playing in sectionals this weekend.

Anyone been to Chutney Masala recently? The theory here is to create a space for like interested people to put out their reactions, questions, and their own opinions.

2) I did not know about Glenn Vogt. I find the coincidence, in relation to our evening, very interesting.

3) I didn't bother reading through the wine list. When Chrissie and I go out it is rare that we order a bottle more than 40 dollars. I'm both proud and ashamed to admit we often shop wine by price point.

What I can say about the six wines we had with the meal is that they ranged, keeping the cost of the pairing in mind, from the perfectly acceptable to the stellar example.

Thanks for reading.James Grovenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05722763750758114301noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8169559709224896951.post-43411474612099273042008-10-09T00:19:00.000-04:002008-10-09T00:19:00.000-04:00I have read your blog(s) and I am interested (espe...I have read your blog(s) and I am interested (especially with this one) what you thought of the wine?
